For Local Citizens, Tours of Armstrong Test Facility Natural Areas Scheduled
The Friends of Perkins Township, a local civic pride group, has arranged with NASA two public tours of the massive natural areas of the Armstrong Test Facility; one on August 19, and a second visit on August 27.
The free tours (in a car caravan) will be lead by biologist John Blakeman, who will take visitors through the massive interior natural areas of the site, to see large, original prairies, forests, and unique geological features, along with possible sightings of white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife that lives in this gigantic facility (5800 acres).
NASA buildings and test facilities will not be visited; only the extensive natural habitats that surround them.
To participate, visitors must first pre-register. Unregistered visitors will not be allowed. Send an email to Wildlifetour5683@gmail.com. Spell out your name, tell if an adult (18 or older), or a juvenile, (17 or younger), along with your phone number.
